Tunnelma Reisjärvellä oli taianomainen. Pienissä paikkakunnissa on Sitä Jotakin. Vaikka päivä oli vuoden pimein se ei tuntunut siltä. Se taisi olla yksi vuoden kauneimmista päivistä maagisine auringonlaskuineen.

Kiitos, Outi ja Ilkka, kun saimme olla osana teidän päiväänne. Tunsimme olomme koko vierailun ajan kotoisaksi ja häitänne oli ilo kuvata. Kiitos myös juhlaväelle, joka biletti kuin viimeistä päivää, joka ei onneksi ennustuksista poiketen tullutkaan!

Before going to Ylläs for Christmas we drove to Reisjärvi to shoot the wedding of Outi & Ilkka. It was the darkest day of the year but didn’t feel like it at all. It was one of the prettiest days of 2012 and a perfect way to start the holidays.

2012 vei miedät uskomattomien rakkaustarinoiden keskelle, ikuistamaan uutta elämää, kauniisiin kesäiltoihin, kylmänkauniisiin talvipäiviin, keskelle lumimyräkkää Ylläksellä ja moneen uuteen paikkaan Suomessa. Oli naurua ja kyyneleitä. Huurtuneita linssejä, niin kameroissa kuin Johannallakin. Jouni joutuu varmaan useaan otteeseen miettimään, mihin on oikein lähtenyt mukaan. Mutta mikä parasta, kaiken tämän koimme yhdessä, tiiminä. Olemme parhaat toisillemme ja toimimme parhaiten yhdessä. Mikään ei ole hienompaa kuin jakaa nämä kaikki tarinat rakkaimman ihmisen kanssa.

Vuonna 2013 ajattelimme kirjoittaa vähän enemmän suomeksi. Suomalaisia kun olemme. :) Viime vuodelta on tulossa vielä niin monta tarinaa ja tältäkin vuodelta on jo kasaantunut paljon kerrottavaa.

Kiitos siis vuodesta 2012 jokaiselle, joka teki siitä mahdollisen. Kiitos jokaiselle, joka on osoittanut luottamusta meitä kohtaan. Olette meille tärkeämpiä, kuin tiedättekään.

Better late than never. Here is our 2012 review. Mostly weddings and engagements, moments that are dear to us. Thank you for 2012, now let’s bring on 2013! <3

One year ago we spent a special day at Kulosaaren Casino. We adore winter weddings, part of the reason being we too got married in winter. It holds a special meaning for us.

We’re in that group of Finns who love winter even though the dark days seem to be endless sometimes. Though, Jouni admits of being more of a summer person. Maybe that’s the reason why we’re having so much difficulties deciding whether to renew our vows in winter, summer, autumn or spring… There’s something awesome with every season. Wouldn’t it be awesome to be able to combine every favorite and come up with fifth season?

Next thing that is coming up on the blog is a 2012 review. Wish us luck – we’ll be having hard time choosing our favorites.

How it’s impossible to choose photos for a blog post. Especially this one.

What can I say about these two?

There’s the thing. I have too much to say. I hope you get the idea of them from these photos. I hope you see the two beautiful souls and their wedding that brought me to tears many, many times during the day and Jouni wondering what kind of a crybaby has he married. I hope that Anni’s smile tells you how completely happy and in love she is on her wedding day. I hope Riku’s smile tells you the same thing.

I hope this wedding brings a lot of sunshine even to the days when the sun might not be shining as brightly as it was today.

And I hope that you’ll see our love for photography and photographing weddings. And our love for loooooooong photo posts. <3

It was love at first sight.

So now we are introducing our newest product, photo albums!

Photos truly become alive when you see them printed, and wedding photos definitely deserve to be seen like this. It’s a completely different feeling when you’re looking them like this. Because the pages are so wonderfully thick, you really have to look through the pages. You can’t just flip through them.

This is a 25x25cm, 15 spread album.

If someone decided that weddings should be all the same, I wish weddings would be like Emmi & Tapani’s wedding. For some reason, some weddings creep their way closer to my heart and stay there forever. Love stories always touch me, because I’m a sucker for love. But some stories… they leave an impact on me that never goes away.

I’ve always sort of known Tapani. We grew up in same town and went to same pentecostal church. I met Emmi for the first time when Suvi & Mauno were getting married and Emmi was attending Suvi’s bachelorette party. (Mauno was Tapani’s best man at this wedding.)

So when Emmi contacted us, I was excited.

I got to see many familiar faces. Hear lots of touching speech. Witness many tears (including many of my own). And there was laughter, lots of it. One of my favorite moments was when Emmi’s grandparents sang a song for them. It was sweet beyond sweet and very, very touching.

Also, the venue, Vähä-Hisson tila pretty much rocked my socks of because of it being so AWESOME.

This will be a long post – this story is a bit bigger.

Here I am, once again, waiting for photos to export from Lightroom in the middle of the night. I decided to pick up my keyboard and blog some while I’m waiting.

This wedding was the first one of past Summer.

Summer, that once again flew by without me even noticing it. In Finland, that seems to happen. Summer is so short and this year temperatures didn’t even rise as high as in the past few years. I didn’t mind – I’m not the sort of person who likes to sunbathe… I’m as pale as a vampire all year long. :) Mostly because I just can’t get a tan even though in the past I have been trying a lot. Then I just quit! I’m embracing my paleness.

But back to the wedding.

Tiia’s dress made me decide that I want pockets in my vow renewal dress. I will also always think of Tiia & Jaakko whenever I hear about Eurovision Song Contest. I wanted a red lipstick from the moment I saw Tiia’s lips (and I finally bought one this month!).

Here is the story of Tiia & Jaakko’s wedding day. We had a blast. Thank you so much for inviting us to be a part of your day! :)
